Your infinite job description
It's more natural than breathing, and you're already doing it 24/7.
A while back I was interviewed by a young podcaster who, while describing her own spiritual philosophy, confidently told me, “The universe is my sugar daddy.”
“It isn’t,” I replied.
(I wasn’t being intentionally contrariwise. But that really isn’t how stuff works.)
Universe-as-sugar-daddy would imply a severe imbalance of power. A rather unhealthy contractual relationship, in fact, where you need to behave in a way that pleases the other, in order to extract the goodies. Right?
But the universe is not a cash machine. It also isn’t a separate ‘other.’ And, most crucially, it makes no judgment whatsoever about your worthiness to receive its infinite treasures.
If you can manage to get yourself onto its divine frequency, even for a few moments of your day, you can be in the zone to receive—and transmit—its unlimited and unconditional flow.
And what I just said right there is not the Law of Attraction. It’s something infinitely richer and deeper.
Nothing against the Law of Attraction, by the way. But honestly? It’s kid stuff, compared to learning how to use your true abilities as the divine creative being you really are.
And divine creativity IS your true job description. It’s what you do, and what you are. You can’t be, or do, anything else.
Throughout history, religious and spiritual masters have hinted at this. And sometimes the religious or spiritual master in question has done a lot more than just hint; sometimes your divine creative ability is presented as plain, in-your-face fact:
Him: Anything I can do, you can do better!
Us: No we can’t!
Him: Yes you can, yes you can, yes you CAN!
(Ok, maybe I’m paraphrasing a little bit there. But who can’t use a little Hollywood musical in their Bible studies now and then?)
Ahem. Anyway, moving right along, to…
Your true creative abilities
I’ve talked about a few of these abilities before, I know. But it’s worth listing them here in one place, to impress upon you just how extraordinary you are. Because your infinite brilliance is hiding in plain sight.
It’s hard to recognize it, because it’s all so normal. So everyday automatic and effortless, for every single one of us.
We don’t have to acquire some kind of special skills or tools we don’t already possess—we just have to discipline ourselves, to properly access what’s already here. That’s the bit that takes effort. Because left to our own devices, we’re all over the place, stumbling around, blindly unaware of the havoc we create.
Anyway, play along with me, if you will, as I list some of your divine abilities.
Here we go:
Time travel - H. G. Wells has nothing on you, because you don’t need a machine to go back in time. Whenever you cast your thoughts back to something from the past (even if that past was ten minutes ago), you’re actually rearranging time in order to relive it.
The same applies when you imagine future events. In both cases, past or future, you are leaving your present world, and projecting most of yourself (excluding your physical body) into that other time coordinate.
Space travel - The same principle applies, albeit in a slightly more advanced way, because it includes the body. But we don’t actually need spaceships or airplanes or buses or trains to move our bodies from one place to another—we just believe we do.
I know, it sounds pretty out there. But just entertain the possibility if you can.
If you’ve ever lucid dreamed (where you’re consciously directing the dream adventure, even though your body is asleep) you’ll have had a taste of that space travel ability of yours: Focus your intention upon the rings of Saturn; or upstate New York; or anywhere at all…and you’re instantly there. That’s actually how you roll. (Potentially.)
Because the so called Laws of Physics are much less restrictive in lucid dreams, thus allowing you to more easily notice your own phenomenal abilities.
In truth, you don’t actually need to obey the Laws of Physics, in sleeping or waking life. But you’d have to first learn to steer your awesomely infinite vehicle, in order to keep from repeatedly ending up in the ditch—as I assume you still currently do—before gaining that kind of mastery.
Clairvoyance, or ESP or whatever you want to call it - We all have it. “I was just thinking about you!” we say in wonderment, to the person who phones us out of the blue.
It’s really no big deal. It’s part of that same incredibly powerful act of sending our consciousness somewhere other than where our own body is. In this case, thinking about someone who was also thinking about us.
We’re using our built-in antenna, which, way back when, used to send and receive signals to and from all of Nature and the whole universe…without us leaving the body to do it. It was a simple part of knowing ourselves as being one with all that is.
But now, kind of like a vestigial tail, it’s just an intriguing leftover from a time when we fully understood our own true place in the divine scheme of things.
And if all of the abovementioned awesomeness isn’t enough? Here’s your most amazing divine ability of them all:
Creation of worlds - Because when you live and breathe in oneness with the universe itself, here’s what happens: Heaven on earth is created through you. Automatically.
You don’t do it. Because it’s never the small ‘you’, the personality you, who gets to decide what heaven on earth should look like. That would be guaranteed to end in tears, somewhere along the line.
But when you’re allowing your own divinity to flow as and through you, unobstructed? The deepest wishes of all beings can start to manifest through you. Through your simple act of being.
And yes, we’re talking about tangible change, at the physical level of form. Yes, the really big stuff. Yes, the moving of mountains.
But luckily, you yourself are not the sole bringer of heaven to earth. It’s not all on your shoulders. (And no worries—nobody is going to start a religion about you, when you do. Thank goodness.)
You’re just living your life, allowing your divine beingness to bring forth whatever is your part in it all.
The gift and the challenge of these times
In the last newsletter I briefly spoke of those who have always known who and what we are in truth…and who long ago figured out simple ways to use our infinite creative abilities against us.
They do it merely through suggestion. Of our guilt and unworthiness; our smallness and helplessness; and of scarcity and lack—and then letting us create all of that, as our own painful reality.
Another classic trick: Offering us constant distraction, which keeps us from noticing our own greatness. Because as soon as we start to notice (and then invite in) our own true divine identity? The jig is up.
It doesn’t take a psychic astrologer to predict that 2023 is likely to be a year of bigtime suggestion and distraction. Maybe the biggest one yet.
But despite their most concentrated efforts, that fear-based world of limitation and pain is rapidly falling apart. Because, well, the jig is up.
There’s no point, and no need, to fight the old fear-based regime. Besides, in truth those guys are your gurus, not your enemies. You can use their shenanigans as catalyst, letting them push you insistently toward your own brilliant liberation.
So. In response to the suggestions and distractions du jour…we can swallow the bait, as humanity has always done.
Or, in this pivotal moment, we can do something far more radical. We can pause instead, to listen deeply within.
Can you hear the soft, sacred purr of your divine vehicle’s motor running? It’s here, now, and it’s ready when you are.
Look carefully, and you’ll see the passenger door is open and waiting.
The divine you IS the vehicle. It’s also the driver. So, get in. Lean in. And let go, for an epic ride.
The passenger seat? Can’t I steer just a little?
Not advisable, at this stage of the game.
I mean, yes, your slice of heaven on earth is something you are fully capable of creating. And yes, you already have all of the equipment on board. But it’s the divine you, who knows what to do with that equipment.
Letting the divine self drive the vehicle, is how heaven on earth happens. Grabbing the wheel yourself…well…doing that tends to bring not-heaven. Right? So the divine in charge, is definitely what we want, here.
And that’s the somewhat tricky bit. Because your divine self can only be found in the present moment. Which means you need to be spending quality time right here, right now, in the same time/space neighborhood where your body is.
The now moment is the only open doorway through which your divine self can enter this tangible physical realm. So your job—in truth your only job—is to be physically, mentally and spiritually present, as best you can, as often as you can, to issue that world-changing invitation.
And then what?
You simply lean in to the divine self that you are. Trusting that all your worries and difficulties, your hopes and hurts, your struggles and triumphs, can all be safely surrendered here.
Trusting that your needs, whatever they are, will be met. Soul satisfyingly. Miraculously. Without you having to micro-manage a thing.
No Honey-Do lists, in other words. No requests for sweets from your sugar daddy.
Just leaning in, and resting in quiet communion.
And divinity—your own divinity—takes care of the rest.
Beautifully stated!
This is absolutely brilliant. Thankyou. Clear as a bell. X
