True confessions on the self realization trail
A friend invited me out for coffee the other morning, and I forgot. Slept through it, actually, only remembering the tentative date we’d made, when her inquiring text came in.
Dang. I hate it when that happens. But hey, it could happen to anyone, right?
Maybe...except... between you and me, this isn’t the first time I’ve agreed to a hypothetical play date, then forgot to follow through. I don’t do it often, but still I have to admit, there’s a small but recognizable pattern of flaking, going on somewhere inside me.
Sounds relatively lightweight, I know, as true confessions go. But here’s why it actually matters…
The requirements of spiritual embodiment
I’ve been talking for years about the physical requirements of embodiment: The structural rewiring that’s needed, for the body to be able to hold massive amounts of high voltage spiritual light.
Well, there’s another requirement that’s every bit as challenging, and it has to do with your energetic field.
Everything we say, do, believe or feel carries an energetic imprint in our field. And if one has a tendency toward some form of repeated negative behavior (like my occasional bouts of flakery for instance), you might say my energetic field contains a flakiness-shaped distortion pattern within it.

Our electromagnetic energy field both influences, and responds to, our moment-by-moment actions and behaviors. So when we repeat a familiar pattern, it’s at least partly because the tendency for that behavior already exists in our field, and it’s influencing our current choices. And by making the choice to repeat the behavior (positive or negative), we’re reinforcing the pattern itself, making it ever stronger and giving it even more influence over us.
Basically, how you conduct yourself in the 3-D world is reflected in the state of your energy field, and vice versa.
In the last newsletter I spoke about what it’s like to have a completely coherent energetic field. It’s incredible, basically. It’s a type of awakening in its own right. I’ve only experienced it once, and it lasted only a day or so.
It’s impossible to explain how unbelievably, divinely right it feels throughout the entire mind, body and self, when one’s energetic field is working PROPERLY, the way it’s actually meant to be. The true divine identity becomes known as a no-brainer. Simple. Perfect.
This is the way that YOU, too, are meant to know yourself. I’m certain of it. Because y’know, that’s part of the expanded intelligence that happens, when you’re in this grand coherent state. You know for a fact that everybody is supposed to be able to live this way.
Which means you, yourself, are supposed to effortlessly know infinite peace. You’re supposed to know who you are, and what your purpose is. (Without a lifetime of hard spiritual efforting!)
Your energetic field is meant to wake up out of its chaotic coma, and know itself in silent majesty and grace. Softly rejoicing in its own divine coherence. And in response, all of life rejoicing in its oneness with you. Coherence is pretty awesome, right?
Aaaaaand then...all those distortion patterns in your energetic field gradually reassert themselves, as mine did. The coherence re-tangles, and you drift down out of that magnificent high frequency state of being. Which is a bit of a bummer. And try as one might, hanging onto that lofty state simply doesn’t work.
Because sadly, staying in high frequency is not a question of willpower. It’s actually impossible to stay up there, if your field and your behaviors aren’t a match for the coherent state of divine being. And that’s why something as seemingly minor as an occasional tendency to make a plan and forget to deliver on it, is actually kind of a big thing. A big little thing.
Walking the talk
So anybody who aspires to know themselves in that coherent high frequency state (and I do recommend it) has undoubtedly got work to do. And not just on the big, obvious stuff.
You know what I mean by that: The epically spiritual, forgiveness-ish kind of stuff. The massive, heroic, “love your enemy” kind of stuff. All of that is hugely important, no question; you’re getting noplace without true forgiveness under your belt. But it turns out it’s much, much more than that. It’s the little things, too. It’s everything about how daily life is lived, moment to moment.
Releasing the lumpy bumpy distortions from our energetic fields means living our best self in all aspects of actual realtime daily life. Because real change never happens on the meditation pillow. A beautiful shift of consciousness might happen there, sure...but then it has to be anchored by our actions and behaviors in this world, in order to make the change.

This desire to live our best self is actually a decision to consistently prioritize divine truth over everything else...even if, in this particular moment, that happens to mean putting down that bag of Doritos and reaching for an apple instead. As but one example of facing whatever your chronic weakness might happen to be.
The tendency to reach for processed junkfood, (in this example), is a tangled up Dorito-shaped distortion in your energetic field, that can only be smoothed out by your active choice to step away from the chips.
(In the above Dorito example, by the way, that distortion pattern would probably also contain a lack of conscious respect for one’s own health. In other words, a lack of care for the body that houses your divine potential. Not really picking on Doritos per se.)
(Well actually, I suppose I sort of am. But not exclusively.)
Anyway.
Daunting prospect, all this squeaky clean living, eh?
But here’s the thing about it. It all comes down to the relentlessly rising frequencies of this incredible time period. The Earth, and you, yourself, are rising into love. Which sounds like an awesomely beautiful thing, and it is. But in practical terms, it’s not an especially graceful transition for lumpy bumpy you and me.
More and more, our various weaknesses will be getting up in our face, demanding resolution. That’s your own divine self, pushing you to clean up your act enough so your body and energy field can slowly start housing your true magnificence. So even though this is wonderful news...in practice, it kind of sucks. And for awhile it will probably feel like you’re making the opposite of progress, on your spiritual journey.
But don’t be fooled. You’re being pressed to evolve into the greatest possible version of you. It’s kind of what you’ve always dreamed of, right? We just never knew we’d have to dump the spicy barbecue tortilla chips to do it.
So if you find that life is getting more turbulent, or more chaotic and messy these days, or that your own character flaws are all up in your face...try to rejoice in the long view: You are becoming absolutely incredible. You are finding your way home to the limitless truth of you.
And the road behind you will be littered with empty Dorito wrappers, and missed coffee dates, and pointless grudges galore. And since littering isn’t cool, your divine self will come along at just the exact right moment and sweep all those things away forever, leaving only glorious pristine love.
Hang in there.
Holding your hand and cheering you on:
Let’s do this thing.
